It's Friday. The end of the week. TGIF! I know you just LOVE my Friday caption contest but it's been a long week and I'm really tired.
So rather than tax your brain with a lot of photos to caption, I'm going to wrap up this week by posing some very serious questions for you to ponder.
1. Is it good if a vacuum really sucks?
2. If a word is misspelled in the dictionary, how would we ever know?
3. Why do we say something is out of whack? What is a whack?
4. Why does "fat chance" and "slim chance" mean the same thing?
5. Why do we sing "Take me out to theball game" when we are already there?
6. Why is it called "after dark" when it really is "after light"?
7. Doesn't "expecting the unexpected" make the unexpected expected?
8. If all the world is a stage, where is the audience sitting?
Fear not. The Friday Caption Contest will return next week.
So...how are you spending your weekend?
I'm currently enjoying: Beaglemania by Linda O. Johnston
Groaner of the day: For a while, Houdini used a lot of trap doors in his act, but he was just going through a stage.

Great questions! Nice to meet you through.... well first it was Alex ----> Mary ----> You! I love blog-trotting!
I think I look like that squirrel at the moment - and I have a working weekend... double fail!
nr 8 woke me up a bit - I think if the world is the stage, then the universe is watching ;) there has to some form of life out there somewhere, and they just watch us... haha! Anyway, all these questions are great - gives something to think about :)
First, those are great questions. May I steal some?
Second, let me ask you, Do the workers at Lipton Tea ever get a coffee break?
Third, I will spend my weekend pondering these questions. I will throw the honey do list aside, put down my three books I have going at once, even stop hopping from blog to the next until I can ponder the answers to these questions. Thanks for filling up my weekend!

I'm still wondering why sour cream has an expiration date.
I love those questions.
Quilting and reading is on my weekend agenda.
Have a great weekend!
Bz - Thanks for coming by and becoming a Follower. I've already returned the favor. I like your blog.
Gregg - I was watching an old re-run of the BBC comedy Are You Being Served? last night. They were discussing their official "Tea Break"... where they were all drinking coffee.
Go figure.
Stephen - and why we call them 'stands' if they're made for people to sit on?
Dru - happy quilting, sweetie. I'll be looking forward to seeing pictures.
Ah, the imponderables.
The only really important questions in life--unless your my dogs. Then the only important question is: When do we eat?
Maria - Odd. That's my eldest grandson's number one burning question as well. Number two would be "What's for dessert?"
I want to try!!!
1. "You know...I think I need a vacation!"
2. "Best friends forever!"
3. I feel pretty Daffy!!!
I know tired! I'm up at 3 am now because I totally crashed when I got home earlier.
Not sure if the time has anything to do with it, but I am very impressed with your questions and the ones the other commenters came up with. My brain is incapable of such clever work.
I've been spending the weekend reading but taking a little time today to do some surfing, obviously. ;-)
LOVE the questions in your post. So true--all of them!
I was going to mow the yard today, but now I think I'll relax on the couch and ponder these wonderful questions. It may take all day...if I'm lucky!
No, no Becky - the next caption contest is NEXT Friday. :-)
MaryC - Aw, you need to get some rest.
In the interest of honesty, I "borrowed" a lot of these. No idea where they came from originally, I just got them off an e-mail that was forward and forwarded and forward and...
Liz - A weekend reading...sigh... now that's time well spent.
Tracy - Glad to have been of service. Hope you 'pondered' all day.
